EMA expects improved antibiotics supply within weeks amid amoxicillin shortage

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has issued an update on ongoing shortages of antibiotic medicines containing amoxicillin - alone and in combination with clavulanic acid.

On Thursday, the Executive Steering Group on Shortages and Safety of Medicinal Products (MSSG) met to discuss the progress made and to agree on the next steps in the coordinated response.

This group is made up of representatives from the EMA, the European Commission and the heads of national medicines agencies.
