Competition in PNH on the way with more positive data for Novartis

Swiss pharma major Novartis (NOVN: VX) has announced positive results from the Phase III APPOINT-PNH study.

The company is running the trial in order to test its investigational oral monotherapy iptacopan, as a treatment for people with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare, chronic and serious complement-mediated blood disorder.

The study has enrolled people who have not been treated with complement inhibitors, including anti-C5 therapies.
