City of Hope gifted $150 million for pancreatic cancer research

Los Angeles, USA-based cancer research center City of Hope has received a $150 million donation, boosting its work targeting pancreatic cancer.

The donation has been made by investor Emmet Stephenson, founder of Stephenson and Company, and his daughter Tessa Stephenson Brand.

One initiative to be funded by the donation is a new $1 million Stephenson Prize, which will be one of the largest privately funded awards in cancer research.
