China takes tougher stance on IP violations

A more robust approach will be taken to enforcing intellectual property (IP) in China, new punishments announced by the National Development and Reform Commission show.

Rules signed off by government agencies mean that violators would be listed on a government website so that financial institutions can deny them access to financing tools.

Violators could also be blocked from receiving financial support from the government and from participating in public procurement, reports news website Asia Times.
