German drugmaker STADA Arzneimittel has started building a new 50 million euro ($52.4 million) medicines supply-chain hub in Romania.
The new facility is expected to supply up to 100 million packs of medicine per year, housing ninc modern lines for solid-dose medicines such as tablets and capsules.
The company expects to commence operations at the facility by the end of 2024, after it has received all necessary good manufacturing practice (GMP) certifications.
Chief technical officer Miguel Pagan said: “Through this major investment, STADA is further strengthening its commitment to acting as a reliable supplier of medicines that support healthcare systems throughout Europe.”
