BRIEF—Roz Bekker replaces Gaetan Leblay as Janssen UK and Ireland MD

Gaetan Leblay has been named vice president, customer and digital strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen.

This has created a vacancy in his former position of managing director for Janssen UK and Ireland, a role that will be filled by Roz Bekker (pictured).

Dr Bekker joins from Janssen’s EMEA strategy organization, where she held the role of regional commercial strategy leader for infectious diseases vaccines (IDV) and was involved in the company’s COVID-19 vaccine pandemic response. She initially joined the firm in 2005, having previously worked as a clinician in South Africa.

She said: “I am delighted to be leading the UK and Ireland team at such an important time for the life sciences sector. I believe that there is considerable opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships between government, the health service and industry to improve care and ensure timely access to innovative treatments for patients.”
