BRIEF—Executive reshuffle at Santen Pharmaceutical

Japan’s Santen Pharmaceutical has reshuffled its executive team, appointing current senior corporate officer Shigeo Taniuchi as president and chief operating officer.

Current president Akira Kurokawa will take up the role of chairman, and retain his position as chief executive officer, effective April 1 2018.

The company is the market leader in Japan for prescription ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and sells products in approximately 60 countries.
