San Diegan cancer company Kura Oncology (Nasdaq: KURA) has picked up Breakthrough Therapy designation for its menin inhibitor ziftomenib.
The US Food and Drug Administration awarded the designation for the treatment of certain people with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
The most common form of acute leukemia, AML begins when the bone marrow makes abnormal white blood cells, red blood cells or platelets.
