Big challenges ahead for Australia's new Health Minister designate

Trade body Medicines Australia congratulates Senator Anne Ruston on her proposed appointment as Minister for Health and Aging, if the country’s current Coalition is re-elected.

The elections is due to take place on May 21. The incumbent Coalition government, led by Scott Morrison, will be seeking a fourth three-year term against the opposition Labor Party, led by Anthony Albanese.

Medicines Australia chief executive, Elizabeth de Somer, said Senator Ruston will face many challenges when she takes on the important Health Portfolio, should the Coalition win the election.
