Avenue Therapeutics reveals positive data for intravenous tramadol

Avenue Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ATXI), part of the Fortress Biotech (Nasdaq: FBIO) group, has announced that a Phase III trial of intravenous tramadol achieved its primary endpoint.

The therapy showed a statistically-significant improvement, compared with placebo, according to a commonly used measure of pain.

The trial was testing the therapy in patients with moderate to moderately severe postoperative pain following bunionectomy surgery.
