Australian roadmap for leadership in pharmaceuticals

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), an Australian government agency responsible for scientific research, is calling for: “action now to establish an ecosystem that will support the growth and innovation of the MTP sector in Australia.”

The CSIRO, which invented Wi-Fi and plastic banknotes, as well as a range of consumer products and other creations, has a long history of industrial research and collaboration in Australia.

In a new report, the agency describes global changes, particularly aging populations, the growth of emerging markets, and increased innovation, which create the circumstances for growth in the Australian pharmaceutical and medtech industries.
