AstraZeneca appoints Genentech's Sean Boehn as EVP of global medicines development and CMO

Anglo-Swedish drug major AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN) has appointed Sean Bohen as executive vice president of global medicines development and chief medical officer.

Dr Bohen will be responsible for driving the progress of AstraZeneca’s portfolio of small molecules and biologics investigational medicines through late-stage development and regulatory approval, and patient safety across the AstraZeneca and MedImmune portfolio.

He joins from Genentech, a subsidiary of Swiss pharma giant Roche (SIX: ROG), where he was most recently senior vice president of early development.
