Japan’s Astellas Pharma (TYO: 4503) has promoted Shontelle Dodson to senior vice president and head of medical affairs Americas, effective May 15, 2017. Ms Dodson previously served as vice president of medical excellence within the global medical affairs organization.
"Shontelle has been an integral and formative leader in the building and evolution of the Medical Affairs organization at Astellas," said Charlotte Kremer, executive vice president and head, Medical Affairs, Astellas, adding: "I'm confident she will make an immediate and positive impact on both the team in the Americas, as well as the patients and partners we serve."
In her new role, Ms Dodson will report directly to Dr Kremer and assume overall responsibility for the strategic direction of the medical affairs Americas organization, including continued medical support of in-line products, late-stage development compounds and ongoing business evolution across the region.
