Annual sales of medical products up 10.2% in China

Sales of medical products in China totaled 1.66 trillion renminbi ($252.5 billion) in 2015, up 10.2% year on year, according to official data reported by the state news agency Xinhua on Friday.

The growth rate was five percentage points lower than the previous year driven largely by declining medicine prices, according to a report made by the Ministry of Commerce, adding that these products cover seven major types, including medicine and medical instruments.

Retail sales, which accounted for 332.3 billion renminbi of the total, grew 8.6% year on year, said the report.
