January 12 marked the year anniversary of President Obama’s announcement of the Cancer Moonshot initiative with the recommendation that his Vice President, Joseph Biden, becomes the head of the campaign.
Mr Biden, as someone who has personally felt the loss of cancer, willingly and enthusiastically accepted and took the reins as a focal point of his mission as Vice President. The Cancer Moonshot is a US nationwide initiative to bring about the cure to all types of cancer by the year 2020, similar to the previous Moonshot which landed man on the moon in 1969 after beginning the program in 1961.
