- Novartis has filed for approval to market Foradil (formoterolfumarate), its long-acting beta2-agonist for the treatment of asthma, in the USA. Foradil, given twice-daily, combines a long duration of action with a rapid onset, providing more immediate relief to sufferers than any other drug of this type. Foradil is delivered via Novartis' Aerosolizer device and is already marketed for asthma in a number of countries worldwide.
