NICE’s Orgovyx nod brings first oral ADT option

14 August 2024

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published its final guidance recommending Accord Healthcare’s Orgovyx (relugolix) for the treatment of hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, recognizing the treatment as cost-effective in England.

This recommendation offers patients the choice to receive an oral preparation of an androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for the first time, rather than just the injectable option.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men across the UK, with 44,000 new cases diagnosed in England each year and almost 10 times as many men living with the condition.
