UK health technology assessor the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) issued final guidance recommending reimbursement of Ayvakyt (avapritinib) from USA-based Blueprint Medicines (Nasdaq: BPMC).
Ayvakyt is a monotherapy for the treatment of eligible adult patients with aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with an associated hematological neoplasm (SM-AHN) or mast cell leukemia (MCL).
The NICE’s recommendation is consistent with the marketing authorization granted by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in September 2024.
