New tool for R&D from Symyx Tech

California, USA-based Symyx Technologies has announced enhancements to its MDL Isentris informatics system, known as Symyx Isentris, giving research organizations improved ability to speed R&D experimentation, reduce costs and improve productivity. Symyx Isentris 3.0 bridges internal and external information in a single search, alerting researchers to relevant data and integrating leading scientific tools on the desktop, says the firm.

"By delivering appropriate information into workflows, Symyx Isentris 3.0 ensures that researchers make informed decisions," said Timothy Campbell, president of Symyx Software. "As researchers browse data, Isentris performs simultaneous searches in the background, flagging important toxicity data, biological activity, in-house and commercial compound availability - instantly pushing relevant information to researchers. This critical information would otherwise require multiple specific searches to find or possibly be missed," he added.

With Isentris 3.0, researchers can quickly create forms to retrieve the precise chemical and biological data they want, without relying on IT assistance. They can save sophisticated searches and use the same forms to generate comprehensive reports for sharing with colleagues.
