Ibrance combination extends median PFS in breast cancer group
US pharma giant Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) and Alliance Foundation Trials (AFT) have announced results from the Phase III PATINA trial.
The results show that adding Ibrance (palbociclib) to current standard-of-care first-line maintenance therapy—following induction chemotherapy—resulted in statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) by investigator assessment in patients with hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) metastatic breast cancer (MBC).
