New lawsuit alleges price fixing affected more than 100 generics

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong has led a coalition of 44 US states in announcing a fresh lawsuit against Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (NYSE: TEVA) and 19 other generic drugmakers.

The complaint is the second to be filed in an ongoing, expanding investigation that the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General has referred to as possibly the ‘largest cartel case’ in the history of the USA, the first having been filed in 2016.

This new case alleges that there was a broad conspiracy to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition and unreasonably restrain trade for more than 100 different generic drugs.
