Glenmark's European strategy takes another step forward

Launching Tavulus (tiotropium bromide) in Spain, Mumbai, India-based Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (BSE: 532296) has become one of the first companies to offer a generic version of the dry powder inhaler.

A bioequivalent to Boehringer Ingelheim's Spiriva (tiotropium bromide), the drug-device combination product is available for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

COPD is a severe and long-term condition which affects around 2.5 million people in Europe.
