Generics and biosimilars offer quality therapies and sustainable health care, EGA meeting hears

“Savings of an additional 16 billion euros ($21.9 billion) per annum could be achieved by increasing generic medicines volume in key areas related to the aging population,” Steven Simoens, a professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven said at an event organized by the European Generic medicines Association (EGA) under the patronage of the Belgian Presidency and hosted by Anne Delvaux, Member of the European Parliament.

On this occasion, around 100 stakeholders gathered in the European Parliament to discuss patient access to affordable treatments and healthcare sustainability in the perspective of an increasing aging population.
