Indian generics major Sun Pharmaceuticals has announced its introduction of a generic equivalent to Daiichi Sankyo's Welchol (colesevelam hydrochloride) to the US market.
Welchol is commonly used to lower cholestoral levels, lowering a patient's risk of strokes and heart attacks. It was produced revenues of over $500 million for Daiichi-Sankyo in the 12 months prior to March 2018.
