BRIEF—Endo starts shipping generic Proventil to USA

Ireland-headquartered drugmaker Endo International has started shipping an approved generic of Merck & Co’s Proventil (albuterol sulfate) HFA inhalation aerosol, to the USA.

Endo has agreed an exclusive US supply and distribution agreement with the pharma giant, allowing it to launch and distribute an authorized generic of the respiratory diseases drug.

The deal was agreed with a Merck subsidiary by the Endo operating company, Par Pharmaceutical, and its president Tony Pera said: “Par has partnered with Merck several times to bring an authorized generic product to market and we are proud to be a reliable, quality supplier."
