Apotex admits price fixing and accepts fine

Generic drugmaker Apotex has admitted to fixing the price of a widely-used cholesterol drug and has accepted a $24.1 million fine from a US court.

The privately-held Canadian company was charged with fixing the price of the generic drug pravastatin, agreeing to increase and maintain its price during a conspiracy that ran from May 2013 through December 2015.
