Iceland-headquartered generics major Actavis Group, via its US subsidiary, has entered into a binding letter of intent with Australian firm QRxPharma (ASX: QRX) to commercialize MoxDuo IR in the USA.
Under the terms of the accord, Actavis gets exclusive rights to launch and market MoxDuo IR, a patented 3:2 ratio fixed dose combination of morphine and oxycodone for the $2.5 billion US acute pain market. The product launch in the USA is expected in third-quarter 2012, with pre-launch preparations beginning immediately, said Actavis.
