Turkish drugmaker Er-Kim has signed a distribution agreement with Germany’s MEDICE Health Family to commercialize Vafseo (vadadustat) across central and eastern Europe (CEE).
Vafseo is a once-daily oral hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase (HIF-PH) inhibitor used to treat anemia due to chronic kidney disease (CKD) for patients on chronic maintenance dialysis.
In April 2023, the European Medicines Agency granted marketing authorization for the product in this indication.
