New export figures for November from Statistics Denmark show that medicine constitutes a significant part of total Danish exports with a value of 153.6 billion kroner ($21 billion) in the first 11 months of 2024, of which 14.2 billion kroner is in November.
"The pharmaceutical industry is a growth driver for the Danish economy, and it just shows why it is so important that we continue to focus on healthcare innovation and development in Denmark," says Ida Sofie Jensen, chief executive of pharma trade group.
"Over a number of years, Danish exports of medicine have been increasing, and this emphasizes the importance of cooperation between public and private companies on production, health and research," she noted.
