The Danish government is to remove the rules that currently prohibit the purchase of medicines from countries outside the European Union (EU) in a move that has not been welcomed by pharma.
Henrik Vestergaard, deputy managing director of the Danish Pharmaceutical Industry Association, Lif, gave a damning verdict on the plan.
"It is indefensible to remove the ban on the citizen's importation of medicines from countries outside the EU, as it will mean that more citizens risk using counterfeit medicines with a risk to their health,” he said.
