BRIEF—Shionogi’s NDA for cefiderocol accepted in China

Japanese drugmaker Shionogi says that its New Drug Application (NDA) for cefiderocol has been accepted for review by the Center for Drug Evaluation, National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Cefiderocol is a medication that effectively penetrates the outer membrane of gram-negative bacteria, including multidrug-resistant bacteria, and exhibits antimicrobial activity, Shionogi explained.

Cefiderocol, which is trade-named Fetcroja, is sold in more than 10 countries and regions, including Japan, Europe and the USA.
