Building on lessons learned during the coronavirus pandemic, the UK government is to open a major new vaccine research center aimed at combating future threats.
The Vaccine Development and Evaluation Centre (VDEC) will be based at the Porton Down site, a highly secure location used by the military and others for activities including research into dangerous pathogens.
The new center will be funded by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and will include 2,800 square meters of laboratory space.
