Sylentis' tivanisiran fails in Phase III dry eye disease trial

Sylentis, part of Spanish drugmaker PharmaMar (MSE:PHM), has announced results from its HELIX study.

The exploratory clinical Phase III trial compared tivanisiran with artificial tears for the treatment of dry eye disease.

The primary endpoints of reducing ocular pain and total corneal staining were not met as no significant statistical difference was demonstrated compared to the comparator.
