Shanghai selected for fifth AstraZeneca global R&D hub

British pharma major AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN) has chosen Shanghai, China, as the location for what will become its fifth global strategic center for research and development.

The other four centers are in Cambridge, UK, Gothenburg, Sweden, and Boston and Gaithersburg in the USA.

AstraZeneca has a long track record of investing in China, making it one of the largest foreign drugmakers in the country.
