Scribe and Sanofi in CRISPR deal worth potential $1.2 billion

Genetic medicines company Scribe Therapeutics has announced an expanded collaboration with French pharma major Sanofi (Euronext: SAN).

Sanofi receives an exclusive license to use Scribe’s CRISPR X-Editing (XE) genome editing technologies for the development of in vivo therapies, including sickle cell disease.

This agreement follows the launch of the companies’ existing collaboration focused on ex vivo editing of natural killer (NK) cell therapies for the treatment of cancer.
