Russian police investigate MabThera theft allegations

Police in St Petersburg are said to be investigating former employees of the Russian business of Swiss drugmaker Roche (ROG: SIX), in connection with theft allegations relating to MabThera (rituximab).

Reports indicate that the unnamed Roche employees are been investigated for stealing and reselling supplies of MabThera on the black market for up to a million dollars.

The allegations relate to suspicious prescriptions for over 1,300 packets of the therapy from doctors at the St Petersburg City Clinical Oncology Dispensary.
