Roche closes 6% up as it threatens to join I-O leaders

The Swiss pharma giant Roche (ROG: SIX) boosted its own share price and dented a few rival stocks on Monday as markets took note of some significant trial results.

Results from the Phase III IMpower150 study showed that Roche’s Tecentriq (atezolizumab) and Avastin (bevacizumab) plus chemotherapy significantly reduced the risk of disease worsening or death in the initial treatment of people with a type of advanced lung cancer, meeting the trial’s co-primary endpoint.

"In addition to first-line NSCLC, we are testing the ability of Tecentriq and Avastin to enhance the potential of the immune system to combat a broad range of other cancers"
