Oxford Nanopore wins PacBio patent fight

A US court in Delaware has ruled in favor of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, in patent litigation between the UK biotech and California’s Pacific Biosciences (PacBio).

The jury found that four patents related to nanopore sequencing technology held by PacBio were invalid.

While the court also determined that the patents held by the American biotechnology firm had been infringed, the decision caused shares in PacBio to slump.
