Novo Nordisk secures approval for 2020 US launch of Esperoct

Danish diabetes giant (NOV: N) Novo Nordisk has won US Food and Drug Administration approval for Esperoct (turoctocog alfa pegol) for people with hemophilia A.

The treatment is indicated for use in adults and children with hemophilia A (congenital factor VIII deficiency) for routine prophylaxis to reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes, on-demand treatment and control of bleeding episodes.

Due to third-party IP agreements, Novo Nordisk will not be able to launch the therapy before 2020 in the USA.
