Novel immunotherapy to boost J&J's position in multiple myeloma

A marketing authorization submission for talquetamab - an immunotherapy with the potential to shake up the multiple myeloma market - is now sat on regulators’ desks at the European Medicines Agency.

The novel injectable antibody, under development by Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), could represent a convenient, off-the-shelf option for people with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.

The product is one of a new type of medicine, a bispecific T-cell engager antibody (BiTE), which targets both GPRC5D, a novel drug target that is on some normal cells but overexpressed on myeloma cells, and CD3 on T-cells.
