New project to boost advanced therapy manufacturing in the UK

British publicly-funded innovation catalyst The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult (CGT Catapult) has launched a new consortium to support the development of personalized cell therapies.

The group is led by advanced therapy developer Achilles Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ACHL) with the participation of research institutes in Germany and Spain.

The consortium has been awarded 4 million euros ($4 million) by the European Union’s R&D fund Horizon Europe, to help develop a bioreactor for advanced medicinal therapeutic products (ATMP) of this type.
