Neuren Pharma tanks despite inking up to $465 million deal for trofinetide

USA-based Acadia Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ACAD) has entered into an exclusive North American License Agreement for the development and commercialization of the Australian biotech firm Neuren Pharmaceutical’s (ASX: NEU) trofinetide for Rett syndrome and other indications.

Neuren retains rights to develop and commercialize trofinetide for all indications outside of North America.

Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological and developmental disorder that affects the way the brain develops, causing a progressive inability to use muscles for eye and body movements and speech. It occurs almost exclusively in girls.
