Kronos to fire around a fifth of staff in strategic restructuring

Kronos Bio (Nasdaq: KRON) is to cut around 19% of its staff as part of a plan to extend its cash runway into 2026.

The oncology specialist said it was making the decision in order to “optimize its resource allocation” after positive preliminary safety and efficacy data from a Phase I/II trial of KB-0742, a CDK9 blocker.

The candidate is in development for the treatment of certain solid tumors.
