Immatics and Moderna enter multi-platform collaboration

German drug developer Immatics (Nasdaq: IMTX) saw its shares rise as much as 6.6% to $12.98 pre-market, after its announced a strategic research and development collaboration with US biotech Moderna (Nasdaq: MRNA).

The companies aim to pioneer novel and transformative therapies for cancer patients with high unmet medical need, that will broaden Moderna’s already strong position in mRNA-based cancer research.

This broad multi-platform collaboration will leverage the deep scientific expertise and core operational capabilities of both companies, combining Immatics’ TCR platform with Moderna’s cutting-edge mRNA technology, and span various therapeutic modalities including bispecifics, cell therapy and cancer vaccines.
