Ichthyosis is a heterogenous group of disorders characterized by dry, itchy skin that appears scaly and rough like fish scales.1,2 The first case of ichthyosis was described in 1806, and the term was derived from the Greek root word for fish - “ichthy’.

During the month of May, the ichthyosis community comes together to spread awareness about the challenges and to discuss advances in the treatment of ichthyosis.
