Positive results from the ADEPT Phase II/III study indicate that Dupixent (dupilumab) may be effective in treating moderate-to-severe bullous pemphigoid (BP). The findings were presented at the 2025 American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting.
BP is a chronic skin disease characterized by intense itching, blisters, and painful lesions. Current treatments often involve immunosuppressants, which can be challenging for elderly patients as they suppress the immune system.
Dupixent targets type 2 inflammation, a key driver of BP, and is the first investigational biologic to show sustained disease remission and reduce disease severity and itch compared to placebo.
