USA-based tumor drug resistance specialist Deciphera Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: DCPH) yesterday announced that its Qinlock (ripretinib) has been included in the latest National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology as a preferred regimen for second-line gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) patients intolerant to sunitinib.
The update to the NCCN GIST Guidelines is based on the primary analysis of the INTRIGUE Phase III study, and the news pushed Deciphera’s hares up 5.65 TO 417.68 in after-hours trading.
Deciphera also announced that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Breakthrough Therapy designation (BTD) for Qinlock for the treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic GIST who received prior treatment with imatinib, and who harbor a KIT exon 11 mutation and co-occurring KIT exon 17 and/or 18 mutations (KIT exon 11+17/18 mutations).
