The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and non-profit PATH have published a report detailing the opportunities to improve vaccine programs through effective data use.
PAHO, which serves as the regional office of World Health Organization (WHO) for the Americas, and PATH have launched the report, entitled Immunization Data: Evidence for Action (IDEA).
They argue that while advances in information technology have led to continuous increases in the amount of health data available, data remains an underutilized resource in the design and implementation of immunization programs throughout the world.
