Cuba and China have reached agreement to strengthen cooperation on biotechnology, said Cuban Science Minister Jose Miyar Barrueco last week speaking at the 6th Joint Work Meeting for Biotechnological Cooperation, quoted by China’s Xinhau news agency.
Mr Barrueco stressed that it is strategic for the two countries to work together in this sector and there are favorable conditions for the two countries to continue and deepen collaboration in this field, and relevant joint projects have made progress.
Also speaking at the two-day meeting, Zhang Xiaoqiang, vice chairman of China's National Commission for Development and Reform, praised the development of biotechnological cooperation between China and Cuba in the last two years, and suggested the introduction of research achievements to other countries to improve human health.
