BRIEF—Vaccitech appoints new CMO

Oxford, UK-based Vaccitech has appointed Mariem Charafeddine as chief medical officer. She was formerly at AbbVie, serving as medical director for phamacovigilance.

Chief executive Tom Evans said: "We are delighted to have Mariem join our team as we advance towards the Phase IIb read-outs of our lead clinical program in influenza.”

The T cell immunotherapy specialist is working on viral vectors as vaccines to treat and prevent cancer and infectious diseases.
